ASGER JORN: Writings on Art and Architecture. Guy Debord and Asger Jorn were the key co-founders of the Situationist International. Despite significant differences in style and personality, the two were close collaborators at that time and remained close personal friends until Jorn’s death in , long after Jorn had left the SI (he resigned from it in ). Each section explores the cultural background, elaboration, and transformation of these issues over a twenty-year period. This approach contrasts Jorn's work in the groups Helhesten () and COBRA () with developments in Informel and Abstract Expressionism.
Jorn's activities included painting, collage, book illustration, prints, drawings, ceramics, tapestries, commissions for murals, and, in his last years, sculpture. He participated in the Situationist International movement from to and worked on a study of early Scandinavian art between and Asger Jorn.
